Job summary

MITRE seeks a strategic Systems Engineer with RF, wireless, sensor integration, and embedded hardware expertise to advance tactical communications and sensing capabilities for USSOCOM.

You will lead RF-enabled technology evaluation, system integration, and performance analyses, collaborating with government and industry partners to shape capability development and acquisition decisions. This on-site role requires a Secret clearance and offers a mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's, 6 years with a Master’s, or 3 years with a PhD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in RF systems, wireless communications, sensor integration, ISR, or related technologies.
• Experience with system integration, verification, validation, or OT&E activities.
• Familiarity with RF communications, spectrum management, antennas, RF propagation, wireless networking, or SDR.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI; US citizen.
• Minimum 4 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support discovery, evaluation, integration, testing, and operational assessment of RF-enabled technologies.
• Collaborate with USSOCOM stakeholders to evaluate RF tech and develop interoperable solutions.
• Support systems integration, engineering analyses, demonstrations, experiments, and evaluations.
• Develop test objectives, participate in lab and field integration, analyze performance, and provide recommendations.
• Support requirements development, architecture analysis, trade studies, technical reviews, and configuration management.
• Produce technical reports and After-Action Reports (AARs) with recommendations.
