Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an experienced avionics engineer for GPS-based navigation systems on Terran R. You’ll own development, testing, and integration, working with teams across propulsion, GNC, and software to ensure robust avionics performance.

You’ll mentor hardware engineers, shape RF architecture, and contribute to design trades that enable reliable telemetry, uplinks, and antenna deployment for high-speed integration and flight readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electronics designed for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (GNC, mechanical, electrical, software) to develop integrated electronics solutions.
• Deep understanding of RF system fundamentals including impedance matching, link budget, antenna theory.

Responsibilities

• Own development, test and integration of GPS-based navigation avionics for Terran R.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company on architectural trades and test plans.
• Provide guidance across RF architecture, including telemetry downlinks, uplinks, and antenna deployments.
• Mentor hardware engineers on RF design fundamentals and analyses.
