Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Advanced RF Applications department (5376). You will contribute to research, development, troubleshooting, field testing, and deployment of advanced RF/microwave systems, with emphasis on C/C++ and MATLAB-to-C++ transitions.

Occasional travel and onsite work are expected. You will join a multi‑discipline team serving IC, SOF, and DOW sponsors, delivering high‑impact solutions while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of directly relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q and SCI clearance (polygraph may be required).

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop software for RF communications systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and prototype solutions balancing mission needs and constraints.
• Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of software.
• Troubleshoot and maintain deployed software; support signal processing algorithms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Develop test plans and analyze field-test data.
