Job summary

Vistance Networks is seeking a Hardware Test & Integration Engineer focused on system-level testing of RF amplifier projects in Wallingford, CT. You’ll collaborate with design engineers to verify specifications and document test results, contributing to a robust access network product line.

The role emphasizes LabVIEW/Python automation, equipment testing, and cross-functional problem solving. Strong engineering background required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
• 10 years of experience in the telecommunications or CATV industry in Laboratory Environments performing test and verification functions and tasks with CATV equipment, both RF and fiber optic.
• Expert Knowledge of CATV Access RF components (RF amplifiers, laser Transmitters, EDFAs, receivers, RF nodes, Ethernet Transport devices, Media Converters, DWDM and CWDM passives, Digital reverse technologies).
• Strong programming skills in LabVIEW and/or Python; use SCPI and GPIB protocols to automate VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generator measurements.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiar with Spectrum Analyzers and Network Analyzers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Setup, test and document Cable TV access network systems and/or components.
• Automating tests in LabView and/or Python to streamline the workflow.
• Work directly with Software/Firmware/Hardware design engineers to solve problems.
