Job summary

Kostas Research Institute (KRI) at Northeastern University seeks a Senior RF Engineer to lead and execute RF/microwave R&D for defense, sensing, and secure communications. You will guide end-to-end development from concept to lab validation and field testing at the ICBM site and beyond.

The role requires 7+ years in RF/microwave engineering, strong communication, and experience with HFSS, ADS, CST, and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS or PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of RF/microwave engineering in defense/aerospace.
• DoD security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF R&D efforts within KRI’s ACED area, including design, prototyping, and testing of RF/microwave hardware systems.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage technical scope and deliverables; ensure timely execution and reporting.
• Contribute to and lead proposal efforts, including technical writing and cost estimation.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns to grow RF research capability.
