Job summary

Abbott Laboratories seeks a Senior RF Engineer to design, verify, and sustain wireless RF systems for neuromodulation products. You will lead BLE communications development for implantable and external devices, designing RF circuits, antennas, and matching networks while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate across systems, firmware, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable wireless medical devices. Strong RF expertise and collaboration skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF, wireless communication, or related engineering field.
• Strong experience in RF circuit design, wireless system development, and RF verification testing.
• Experience with RF matching networks, antenna development, and wireless performance optimization.
• Experience with RF measurement equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience developing and executing RF characterization, verification, and validation testing.
• Experience in a regulated product development environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF subsystem design and development for implantable and external neuromodulation products with BLE focus.
• Document RF circuits, matching networks, antennas, and wireless architectures to meet performance and regulatory requirements.
• Perform RF simulation, modeling, and analysis to predict and optimize wireless performance.
• Develop RF characterization and test strategies including OTA testing and antenna evaluation.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Investigate RF issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and test labs for component selection and manufacturability.
