Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a seasoned Computational Electromagnetic Modeling Engineer to advance RF signature analysis capabilities. You will develop high-fidelity electromagnetic models, collaborate with radar engineers, scientists, and software developers, and leverage HPC environments to deliver robust signature characterization tools.

The role requires a Master’s in EE or Physics, 10+ years of EM theory/software experience, and proficiency in Matlab/Python.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical degree
• At least 10 years of engineering-related experience in developing computational electromagnetic theory and computational methods/mathematics software
• Familiarity with Matlab, Python, or similar mathematical analysis tools
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for Interim Secret clearance with potential Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and use computational electromagnetics codes to model radio frequency signatures of various radar targets
• Participate in developing and testing advances in computational electromagnetics codes and the development of new models of various phenomenologies
• Plan for RCS measurements of various test articles at national facilities
