Job summary

STR is seeking a Principal Software Reverse Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers focused on cyber-physical security and national defense.

Work must be performed onsite and Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance required. You will lead reverse engineering of complex software and embedded firmware, develop automated analysis tools, and contribute to vulnerability research and exploit development in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 15+ years relevant experience (MS/PhD with equivalent work experience may be considered).
• Experience leading technical teams on advanced reverse engineering and exploitation programs.
• Proficiency in multiple Assembly Languages (x86, ARM, etc.).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, etc.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering complex software or firmware targets across Windows/Linux binaries and embedded firmware.
• Develop automated reverse engineering and binary analysis tools to characterize protocols and functionality.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions.
• Perform vulnerability weaponization, exploit development, and payload development for challenging targets.
• Document, demonstrate, and present research to customers and stakeholders.
• Onsite work required withTop Secret clearance; contribute to national security projects.
