Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.
• Six years in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of tax auditing.
• A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of tax auditing.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of tax auditing.
• An advanced degree in accounting/finance/business/management/economics/quantitative methods or JD plus three years of tax auditing.
• CPA license or Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of tax auditing.
• EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: every 30 semester hours earns one year towards six years of experience; max 120 semester hours substitutes for four years.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the assistant to the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager over a team of auditors in a defined geographical area.
• Supervise staff of Revenue Tax Auditors located within Louisiana and other locations in the United States.
• Accompany auditors on pre-audit and post-audit interviews with taxpayers and professionals to discuss procedures and results.
• Assign case inventory and determine appropriate course of action for audits.
• Plan workload, workflow, deadlines, objectives and time management priorities.
• Monitor performance standards and conduct evaluations.
