Job summary

Deriva Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior/Lead Analyst to prepare and validate revenue journal entries, analyze wind and solar portfolio data, and support month-end close. You will ensure accurate revenue recognition, interact with auditors and internal stakeholders, and help implement new ERP/ETRM processes.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and Power BI skills, and experience with power settlements and various ISOs. On-site work four days a week with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in accounting/finance
• Experience with GAAP revenue recognition and internal controls
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate revenue journal entries and invoices for wind and solar portfolio
• Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue accounting
• Analyze revenue and settlement data for accuracy and trends
• Interpret complex contract terms to ensure proper revenue recognition
• Collaborate with site personnel, corporate teams, auditors, vendors, and consultants to resolve discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Clear A/R aging reports
• Reconcile cash receipts related to revenue settlements (AR, unbilled revenue, collateral, derivatives)
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decisions
• Maintain compliance with GAAP revenue accounting standards and internal controls
• Support implementation of new ETRM system
