Job summary

Zillow Group’s Revenue Accounting team within the Controllership organization seeks a Senior Accountant - Revenue to apply advanced accounting knowledge to complex operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, and support timely reporting. You will partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes and provide insights for informed decision-making.

This remote role requires CPA preferred, experience with ERP systems, Alteryx Designer or Databricks, and AI tools usage in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Active CPA license (strongly preferred).
• Experience performing and reviewing period-end close activities and variance analysis in a high-volume or multi-entity environment.
• Experience working with modern ERP, financial systems, and tools such as Alteryx Designer or Databricks.
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini in accounting/finance environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial results.
• Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned areas, identifying root causes of variances, resolving discrepancies, and recommending process improvements.
• Analyze trends and key drivers in assigned accounts, preparing clear summaries and explanations for management reviews and internal reporting.
• Collaborate with Strategic Finance, Tax, Treasury, and business partners to provide accounting insights and support initiatives affecting the general ledger.
• Support system and process changes by defining accounting requirements, testing outcomes, and validating data integrity.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance standard operating procedures, controls, and documentation for key accounting processes to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Continuously pursue optimization and automation of existing processes to scale with the growth of the business.
