Job summary

Appian seeks a mid-level revenue accountant to own critical revenue cycles, assist external audits, and collaborate with Sales Ops and Renewals to ensure accurate revenue reporting. This role operates in a fast-growing corporate environment at our headquarters.

You will manage monthly close activities, perform reconciliations, and participate in SOX-like internal control processes, driving improvements in reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years in revenue accounting or corporate accounting.
• Proficiency in journal entries and reconciliations.
• Foundational knowledge of ASC 606 and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel for modeling and data manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve customer contracts for software and services revenue.
• Support renewal process by creating opportunities in Salesforce.
• Assist with month-end reconciliation of revenue accounts and unbilled/rev.
• Prepare quarter-end analysis of current vs long-term unbilled A/R and deferred rev.
• Support audit requests with revenue documentation and ad hoc reporting.
