Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

A high-growth, venture-backed SaaS company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our revenue recognition processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and a drive for continuous improvement and scalability.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead monthly revenue accounting close activities by preparing journal entries and performing key account reconciliations, including those related to revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables
• Support revenue reporting and analysis by monitoring customer usage
• Review standard and non-standard contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP and ensure compliance with ASC 606
• Assist in the order-to-cash process by reviewing submitted sales orders in our accounting system to ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance
• Manage enterprise invoicing and prepare weekly accounts receivable aging reports, including proactive customer outreach for timely collections
• Oversee revenue recognition systems (e.g., Zuora Revenue), including configuration, data validation, reconciliation, and optimizing integrations and data flows
• Collaborate cross-functionally to automate and streamline revenue accounting operations and improve close efficiency
• Partner with sales, customer success, revenue operations, and FP&A teams to gather data and reporting for monthly revenue entries
• Develop and maintain internal process documentation for clarity, consistency, and operational efficiency
• Serve as point of contact for sales tax and VAT-related issues, including nexus research, jurisdiction registration, and taxability analysis for new products
• Create analytical reports to identify business variances and trends
• Perform special technical projects, ad hoc reporting, and in-depth analysis as needed
• Play a key role in the financial audit process by preparing and reviewing revenue-related schedules for external auditors

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system
• Familiarity with developing and maintaining revenue recognition models and forecasts
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with international subsidiaries and consolidations
• Strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities
• Clear, effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Zuora, Avalara, Stripe, and Salesforce

Pluses, But Not Required:

• CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting experience
• Background in revenue recognition automation and systems implementation
• Prior experience at a SaaS company
