Qualifications

  • Month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable with large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end revenue close with journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile revenue-related accounts including deferred revenue and contract assets.
  • Prepare monthly flux analyses and management reports for revenue.
  • Assist audits with control documentation and audit-ready records.
  • Maintain revenue processes, controls, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with system implementations, enhancements, and testing for ASC 606 compliance.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and analyses.

Job description

DDN is seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to support the company’s global revenue accounting function and help ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and company policy. This role will be responsible for assisting with the review of revenue transactions, supporting the month-end close process, and preparing reconciliations.

The ideal candidate can work effectively in a fast-paced environment with complex customer arrangements involving hardware, software, support, and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end revenue close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards, and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue, contract assets, unbilled receivables related to revenue recognition, and other related balance sheet accounts, as applicable.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly flux analyses and management reporting for revenue and related accounts.
  • Support external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining audit-ready documentation for internal controls over revenue recognition.
  • Help maintain revenue processes, controls, and documentation to promote accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
  • Assist with system implementations, enhancements, and testing to help ensure data integrity, accurate revenue recognition, and compliance with company policy and ASC 606.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, and special analyses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA, preferred
  • 3-4+ years of accounting experience, including 1-2+ years of revenue accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, with software industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets and detailed supporting schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
