Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks an experienced retirement plans specialist for the Compensation and Benefits team. You will address complex technical and operational issues affecting qualified plans, 401(k)s, IRAs, and ESOPs while guiding clients and colleagues.

You will interpret regulatory developments, provide practical guidance, and support compliance across the firm. The role includes training professionals, collaborating with other service lines, and helping shape plan design and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.
• Active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office; Enrolled Agent (EA) or Attorney license.
• Minimum of eight years of experience including client facing roles and oversight of others.
• Strong communication, project management, and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and consult on technical issues relating to qualified retirement plans, IRAs, ESOPs, and employee benefits.
• Review guidance, memoranda, articles, and client communications on retirement plan developments.
• Collaborate with Washington National Tax professionals on regulatory developments and client communication.
• Train professionals across the firm on retirement plans, including qualification requirements and fiduciary considerations.
• Support clients with plan design, compliance reviews, and transaction-related retirement plan matters.
• Coordinate with other specialty groups on issues intersecting with retirement plans.
