Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Compliance Associate in Tampa, Florida, to manage compliance tasks and ensure the accuracy of retirement plan provisions. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 8+ years of relevant experience.

This role involves preparing compliance reports, facilitating operational support, and helping maintain regulatory adherence. Additional qualifications include strong communication skills, proficiency with accounting and analysis software, and certain industry certifications.

Qualifications

• 3 to 8+ years of hands-on retirement plan testing experience.
• Experience with 5500’s and other relevant documents.
• Involvement or work towards QPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates compliance and testing for qualified plans.
• Reads and comprehends retirement plan provisions.
• Prepares annual valuation and compliance reports.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Experience with cash basis and/or trust accounting

Strong attention to detail

Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Tools

Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification

QKA designation preferred

Plan administration software (FT Williams or ASC)
