Job summary

Anchor QEA is seeking a Restoration Engineer to lead estuary, river and coastal restoration projects from concept to construction in the Southeast, with a hybrid work model in Asheville, NC. You’ll supervise design, field data collection and modeling while coordinating with clients and interdisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of restoration experience, at least 3 years in project management, and a NC PE license or the ability to obtain within one year.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in civil, hydraulic, water resources engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in river, stream, floodplain or fish passage restoration design.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
• NC PE license or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Lead restoration projects from concept to construction with stakeholders.
• Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses for restoration.
• Design fish passage, log jams, channel realignments and habitat improvements.
• Prepare design plans, specs, estimates, and construction documents.
• Manage project teams, budgets, scopes, and schedules.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to QA/QC.
• Engage with tribes and agencies to deliver outcomes.
• Support proposals and field oversight during construction.
