Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide clinical support for patients of all ages with cardio-pulmonary dysfunction. The role includes administering therapy, ventilator management, and diagnostics in collaboration with the care team.

The incumbent will participate in rounds, uphold infection control standards, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives while maintaining detailed documentation and ensuring patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Licensed by the state of Massachusetts to provide respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). If employed at Tufts Medicine, must be RRT.
• Three years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical expertise and daily support to Respiratory Care department team members.
• Initiates and manages invasive and non-invasive ventilation per physician orders.
• Administers inhaled medications and oxygen therapy.
• Calibrates monitors and maintains respiratory equipment.
• Documents therapy, patient assessment and interventions in the medical record.
• Assists with ECMO patient care and transport as needed.
