Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide safe and effective respiratory care in an acute care setting. You will administer medications and therapies, operate and monitor ventilators, and ensure patient safety and compliance with protocols.

The role requires BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, a Texas state license, and NBRC RRT credential, with at least five years in an acute care environment. Strong documentation and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold BLS certification.
• Must maintain ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Texas state license required.
• RRT credential by NBRC required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and effective administration of medically prescribed medications, knowing their indications.
• Follow indications/contraindications and policies for HHN and lung expansion therapy.
• Set up and monitors oxygen.
• Set up oxygen cylinders and ensures proper usage and safety measures.
• Performs arterial punctures using radial and brachial sites independently and draws arterial blood gas samples.
• Performs all aspects of artificial airway care, including deep blind tracheal suctioning.
• Responsible for the administration of all types of mechanical ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP.
• Familiar with oxygen delivery systems (nasal, venturi mask).
• Familiar with measuring devices (pulse oximeter, respirometer, ETCO2).
• Responsible for setup, safety checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators.
• Maintains accurate records in EMR and complete documentation of patient charges.
