Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or higher in respiratory care or related field or current enrollment in Bachelor degree of Science/health care related field with at least 2 years relevant experience in respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license at start date
• BLS prior to start date
• ACLS prior to start date (Adults)
• PALS prior to start date (Neo/Peds)
• NBRC ACCS credential (Adults)
• NBRC NPS credential (Neonatal/Pediatrics)
• NRP obtained within 180 days of hire (neo/peds)
• Pass annual competency with no remediation
• Engagement in CQI/QA initiatives and related activities
• Belonging to AARC/ISRC and pursuing education to advance knowledge

Mansioni

• Provide charge therapist duties as defined by the House Coverage Checklist
• Assist in completing staff orientation competencies
• Serve on at least one RCS department committee
• Present key DMS board components as part of daily team huddles
• Assess patient cardiopulmonary status through clinical observation and monitoring
• Administer bronchial hygiene and therapeutic interventions guided by protocols
• Recommend and implement interventions based on patient assessment
• Assess patients before, during and after medications or procedures
• Provide invasive and non-invasive ventilator management based on assessment
• Perform airway management including placement, maintenance and removal of artificial airway
• Conduct specialized procedures such as surfactant administration, ECMO support, bronchoscopy etc.
• Conduct internal patient transports requiring respiratory support
• Acquire and process blood gas samples
• Perform CPR and participate in Rapid Response Team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and act as a resource
• Document findings and education, including patient charges
• Precept students and new employees; support CQI/QA initiatives
• Participate in clinical research and audits
• Maintain licensure, credentials and AARC membership
