Job summary

American Electric Power, based in the United States, is seeking a Senior Exercise & Training Analyst to lead disaster recovery testing, develop training materials, and support exercise programs across emergency management, business continuity, and enterprise resilience.

You will collaborate with business units, technology stakeholders, and external partners to validate preparedness against defined objectives, manage evidence, support after-action reporting, and guide junior analysts in exercise

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
4–6+ years of progressive experience in exercise design, training development, emergency management, or related disciplines.
Experience supporting or leading exercise design, facilitation, evaluation, and after-action reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead exercise and/or training activities aligned with Enterprise Resilience standards.
Develop exercise materials, learning objectives, curricula, job aids, and facilitation guides.
Coordinate with business units, operating companies, and external partners to validate preparedness.
Document results, manage evidence, and support corrective-action tracking.
