Job summary

Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes is seeking a local Residential Superintendent to join our high-end custom home division in the Pittsburgh area. The role requires construction-minded, highly organized individuals who can work independently on site.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, safety and quality control, coordinating with the Project Manager, reviewing drawings, managing subcontractors, developing bi-weekly look-ahead schedules, and ensuring on-time project progress.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of design-build construction including scheduling, permitting, budgets, safety and reporting.
• Experience leading projects from small improvements to large builds.
• Excellent client relations and communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily project operations ensuring quality control and safety.
• Manage on-site paperwork and reports.
• Prepare and submit daily safety reports and field observation summaries.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to implement the project schedule and procure materials.
• Manage subcontractors and verify scope of work.
• Review drawings and oversee execution of works.
• Support project layout and closeout tasks.
• Develop bi-weekly look-ahead schedules.
• Inspect material orders for quality and quantity meeting project specs.
