Job summary

Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes is seeking a local Residential Superintendent for its high-end custom home division in the Pittsburgh area. The role requires construction-minded individuals who are highly organized, work independently and manage daily on-site operations with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in residential construction.
• Custom home experience is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of design-build construction including scheduling, permitting, budgets, safety and reporting.
• Experience in all stages of building construction.
• Ability to lead projects of varying scale from small improvements to large new builds and remodels.
• Excellent client relations management.
• Valid driver's license with good MVR.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily project operations, ensuring quality control and safety standards.
• Manage daily paperwork and documentation on-site, including processing and filing relevant forms and reports.
• Prepare and submit daily safety reports and field observation summaries.
• Conduct daily field observations, capture site photos, and maintain safety/quality logs.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement the project schedule and procure materials.
• Assign and schedule subcontractors; confirm scope of work aligns with project requirements.
• Review architectural, structural, and interior drawings and prints.
• Execute and oversee subcontractor scopes of work.
• Facilitate project layout and closeout tasks.
• Develop and update look-ahead schedule every two weeks.
• Inspect material orders to ensure quality and quantity meet specs.
