Job summary

Factor Design Build seeks a Project Architect to lead residential design from schematic through construction, ensuring creative direction, detailed technical documents, and budget-conscious solutions. The role works with estimating and field teams to review drawings for constructability and budget alignment, revising details per field feedback.

The candidate should have strong Revit expertise, proven ability to manage multiple projects, and a solid understanding of applicable codes.

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of residential architectural design experience, including multiple projects from Schematic Design through construction.
  • Proficiency in architectural detailing, including wall sections, assemblies, transitions, and waterproofing.
  • Working knowledge of the IRC, IBC, and IECC editions currently adopted across Denver, Boulder, and surrounding communities, and ability to track local amendments as they are updated.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to design and detail within an established construction budget, in coordination with the estimating team.
  • Willingness to revise details in response to constructability feedback from the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Establish and maintain creative direction on assigned architectural projects.
  • Lead clients through the Schematic Design process and present design work.
  • Prepare presentation materials for Schematic Design presentations.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop architectural details for assigned projects; specify materials, windows, and doors.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform QA review of drawing sets prior to issue; ensure constructability.
  • Research: Evaluate new materials and methods for firm-wide application.
  • Code and Permitting: Conduct code studies and publish findings; establish permitting strategies.
  • Consultant Direction: Define technical scope of outside consultant engagements and review deliverables.
