Job summary

Indianola Mechanical has been providing expert HVAC and plumbing services since 1987. We are looking for a well-rounded and experienced Senior HVAC Technician who can ensure excellent customer care and add to our collaborative team.

We offer great benefits and starting pay with room to grow; you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, and clearly explain options and costs to customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential HVAC services (4+ years preferred).
• HVAC Journeyman License and EPA Certificate preferred.
• Broad experience across HVAC fields (Residential, Commercial, Geothermal, Hydronic) preferred.
• Background in sheet metal transition or building adapting preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, locate, and diagnose problems in ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Describe assessment, repair options, and associated costs to customers in terms they can easily understand.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning air handling systems and reheat coils, monitoring systems, and replacing filters, motors, fans, and belts.
• Assist with comprehensive repairs of complete systems, including controls, switches, thermostats, transformers, gauges, wiring, pumps, compressors, condensers, and piping.
• Install, repair, replace, or clean refrigerant lines, fans, appliance vents, smoke detectors, humidifiers, and grills.
• Ensure all HVAC repairs and installations are accurate, serviceable, and meet safety standards and regulatory codes.
• Complete all required documentation on services, recording details and explaining guarantees or warranties to customers.

• Starting pay $25-$39 per hour depending on experience.With commissions, this position could earn up to $150,000 plus annually!

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to frequent stoop, kneel and crouch to work in tight spaces.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders.
• Must be able to work in both extreme heat and cold, as well as adverse weather conditions.
