Job summary

Vinfen Corporation in Coventry, CT is seeking a Lead Residential Counselor to provide direct support to individuals with behavioral conditions and developmental disabilities in small group homes or individual living arrangements.

You will develop and document treatment plans, supervise staff, manage medications, and coordinate with nurses, case managers, and clinicians to ensure high‑quality services and safety. Driving is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a Residential Counselor role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Driving is a requirement for this position with Vinfen-owned or personal vehicle.
  • CPR/First Aid and Safety Care certifications within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting treatment plans and clinical programs.
  • Provide training and support to residents in activities of daily living and community participation.
  • Plan recreational activities to improve emotional well-being and quality of life.
  • Administer, document, and dispose of medications in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain records and document incidents, programs, and routine activities.
  • Ensure staff-to-consumer ratio is maintained and provide last-minute coverage as needed.
