Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 8+ years of experience as a licensed residential contractor.
• Valid Allen County Contractor License, Inspector Certification, or ability to achieve the license within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Strong understanding of residential building codes and practices.
• Solid communication skills—you can explain complex code requirements in plain language.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and reporting tools).
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on new construction, remodels, and residential renovations.
• Ensure compliance with state and local building codes.
• Partner with contractors, designers, and property owners to explain requirements and resolve issues.
• Investigate complaints and follow through to resolution.
• Document findings, prepare reports, and track compliance.
• Perform follow-up inspections on code violations.
• Interpret and apply building codes with sound judgment and professionalism.
