Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to provide engineering leadership and construction management oversight for major highway and transportation infrastructure projects in the United States.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven project management skills, and the ability to coordinate contractors, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site role in Houston, TX with HDR employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field.
• 10 years related experience in construction including estimating, bidding, PO & subcontracts, scheduling, and field engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise and management oversight for the development and construction of various quality construction projects.
• Prepare project budgets and schedules.
• Plan, prepare and analyze documents, and manage construction contracts.
• Forecast and track fiscal budget and cash flow for total workforce, facilities, vehicles, equipment and other resources.
