Job summary

Yazaki North America is seeking a Sr. Resident Engineer for the COMBU Engineering team in Canton, MI, with duties centered in Warren, MI.

You will act as the primary customer liaison, coordinate meetings, and support design and costing activities across development programs for vehicle systems. The role involves analyzing and reporting vehicle-level testing issues, leading technical communications with customers, and guiding system requirements changes to ensure program milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline.
• Master's degree preferred for senior/principal roles.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a window to the customer, providing on-site support for development programs.
• Coordinate communication meetings between the customer and YNA.
• Support customer drawing creation for new and current design products.
• Support costing initiatives, including RFQ activities throughout the life of the program.
• Resolve issues on the technical requirements and design.
• Prepare and present responses to action items.
• Maintain the technical specification & diagnostics specs, track and update changes.
• Initiate system requirement change requests.
• Determine and investigate design alternatives.
• Recommend design alternatives supported by data.
• Review program timing and progress toward targets.
