The Multicultural Alzheimer’s Prevention Program (MAPP) in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is an initiative to advance our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and prevent cognitive decline in diverse populations.

Working under the general guidance of the Program Director (Dr. Yakeel T. Quiroz), the Research Technician will be responsible for carrying out daily activities to support the prevention research program. This includes community outreach, participant recruitment and cognitive testing, as well as contributing to data entry, analysis and manuscript preparation.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, psychology, neuroscience, or related fields.
  • 1-3 years of experience in clinical research or brain imaging research.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish/Portuguese are required.
  • Must be able to work productively under minimal supervision.
  • Careful attention to detail and strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with statistical software (SPSS, STATA, RStudio or other.) is preferred.
  • Experience with data management software (REDCap) is required.
  • Experience with research regulatory processes, including IRB submissions, continuing reviews, and compliance with GCP and HIPAA regulations.
