Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support investigation of mitochondrial dysfunction in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology. The role involves independently conducting experiments, performing molecular and cellular techniques, and assisting with grant proposals and publications.

You will train junior staff and students, maintain accurate records, manage lab equipment and procurement, and help interpret data for manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
• The successful candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist with PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, imaging, and mitochondrial isolation.
• Record and analyze data; prepare progress reports and assist with publications.
• Train junior staff and students in research methods and equipment.
• Maintain laboratory records and assist with procurement requests; monitor supplies.
