Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Research Technician III to support the principal investigator by coordinating multiple studies, collecting data, and reporting results. You will supervise research assistants and ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a basic science (Master’s preferred), 3–7 years’ lab experience, proficiency in statistics, PCR, gel electrophoresis and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in basic science or related field required
• Master's Degree preferred
• 3–7 years of progressive lab experience required
• Knowledge of statistics and advanced mathematics
• Proficiency with laboratory techniques and research software
• Experience handling laboratory animals

Responsibilities

• Plans, conducts and manages research projects under PI direction within federal and institutional regulations.
• Uses research funds/resources appropriately and maintains confidentiality of data.
• Oversees data collection/analysis and presents findings at meetings.
• Trains and mentors staff; coordinates schedules and priorities.
• Performs routine/non-routine tests such as western blots and immunofluorescence.
