Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Research Scientist at the process development level to lead upstream bioprocessing projects involving fermentation and bioreactor systems. The role focuses on project ownership, strategic planning, and driving innovations across development stages.

You will design experiments, develop SOPs, and mentor others while ensuring progress within schedule and budget constraints in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD with relevant experience in bioprocessing, fermentation, or upstream development.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects in a biopharma/animal health setting.
• Ability to design, optimize, and troubleshoot upstream processes and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate large-scale Technical Development projects involving fermentation and bioreactor systems.
• Own technical areas and provide strategic direction for Upstream Process Development.
• Design and implement experiments, protocols, and SOPs for process improvement.
• Perform hands-on lab work across scales and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Analyze data, generate actionable insights, and report to management.
• Mentor team members and drive knowledge sharing across the TD function.
