Job summary

Sam Houston State University seeks a Coordinator IV for Research & Proposal Development in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). This exempt, full-time role coordinates highly complex administrative work to enhance externally funded research by faculty and students.

Responsibilities include developing proposal strategies, monitoring funding trends, identifying opportunities, coordinating deadlines, and preparing comprehensive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field offered at SHSU; Master’s degree desirable.
• Four years of related experience.
• Experience with proposal development and grant submissions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in ORSP initiatives to increase externally funded research.
• Develop and implement strategies to engage faculty in the proposal development process.
• Monitor funding trends and identify opportunities at local, state, and federal levels.
• Prepare reports to assess short- and long-term strategic goals for research funding.
• Ensure timely submission of proposals and maintain records of submissions and outcomes.
