Job summary

Harvard University’s Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) seeks a Senior Research Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of PIs, manage pre- and post-award activities, and ensure compliance with sponsor, donor, and university policies. The role requires independent judgment and collaboration with HGSE ORA and Central OSP.

This one-year term position, based in Cambridge with hybrid work options, reports to the Director of Research Management and supports HGSE’s research mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations and policies.
• Cover letter required with resume.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-award areas including funding reviews and proposal submission for sponsored and non-sponsored funding.
• Perform complex post-award activities including award review and financial planning.
• Act as subject matter expert on sponsored and non-sponsored research administration matters.
• Monitor grants and contracts for compliance and timely expenses.
• Coordinate with HGSE ORA, Compliance Officer, and Central OSP on reviews and policies.
• Review OSP actions for accuracy and manage document workflow for the portfolio.
• Support special projects and policy implementations across HGSE ORA.
