Job summary

Altasciences is seeking a study pathologist to perform macroscopic and microscopic tissue evaluations on preclinical toxicology studies in a GLP environment. You will supervise necropsy activities, guide staff, and write comprehensive narratives detailing test article effects.

You will mentor pathologists, provide scientific input for experimental design, and engage with sponsors as a pathology expert. Strong leadership and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• D.V.M. or equivalent (AVMA ECFVG)
• Minimum 5 years of toxicologic pathology experience in a GLP environment
• Diplomat of ACVP/JCVP/ECVP/RCVP
• MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint proficiency
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write advanced reports
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals

Responsibilities

• Perform macroscopic and microscopic tissue evaluations and interpretation of assigned studies.
• Assist with necropsy supervision and gross pathology interpretation.
• Provide training, technical guidance and leadership to laboratory staff.
• Write comprehensive narrative reports detailing test article effects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in toxicologic pathology and participate in PWG as needed.
• Act as pathology representative for sponsors and mentor junior pathologists.
