Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Research Operations Manager for CIRO-Administration to lead and optimize operational and administrative support for the research enterprise. You will guide staffing, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation while partnering with departmental leadership on strategic initiatives.

You will develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and documentation, coordinate procurement and budgeting, and oversee internal funding commitments to ensure

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in research administration or research operations.
• Experience supervising and managing personnel or teams.
• Experience managing projects, initiatives, or process improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team of Research Operations staff responsible for supporting departmental administrative, operational, and research support activities.
• Develop staffing plans and ensure employees are recruited, onboarded, trained, supervised, and evaluated.
• Serve as an operational partner to departmental leadership in planning and advancing strategic initiatives.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve administrative processes, SOPs, and resources.
• Oversee research operations functions including recruitment, onboarding, procurement, travel support, and Workday training.
• Manage departmental administrative resources and budgeting for resource planning and departmental initiatives.
• Provide strategic financial stewardship and fiscal oversight of departmental resources.
