Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Manager, Research Support to join the UHealth campus in Miami, FL. This on-site, full-time role supports the Sylvester Brain Tumor Institute (SBTI) by coordinating administrative and strategic activities, meetings, events, and internal funding processes.

You will lead cross-functional coordination, manage budgets, develop performance reports, and ensure compliance with university policies while fostering collaborations across clinical and research

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals aligned with the strategic plan.
• Ability to plan, delegate and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

Responsibilities

• Conducts meetings with research staff and ensures functions are coordinated in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides technical support and resolves operational problems.
• Oversees department budget and identifies areas of opportunity for cost reduction.
• Assists in the preparation and publication of manuscripts.
• Recruits and trains research staff and prepares performance reports and disciplinary recommendations for the leadership team.
• Analyzes reports, data briefs, and auxiliary publications for new topic modules.
• Defines and produces indicators for a data visualization platform.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on university policy and procedures.
