Job summary

UCSF Health in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Research Administrator to manage end-to-end fiscal stewardship of sponsored awards in the Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases. Working with principal investigators and campus partners, you will ensure compliance and accurate forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum five years of postaward research administration experience in an academic health-science environment.
• In-depth knowledge of federal grant regulations (Uniform Guidance, OMB Circular A21, NIH policies) and sponsor requirements.
• Experience managing multiyear program/project grants, clinical trial contracts, training grants, and subawards.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills; proficiency with UCSF RMS, ERP, and related financial systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; capable of presenting complex financial information to diverse audiences.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize multiple complex assignments.
• Experience conducting audits, preparing closeout reports, and maintaining compliance documentation.
• Eligibility for delegated signature authority in accordance with UCSF policies.
• Commitment to UCSF's mission of research excellence, education, and public service.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end fiscal stewardship of a diverse portfolio of sponsored awards, contracts, gifts, and discretionary funds.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators, Division Manager, and campus partners to ensure compliance and accurate forecasts.
• Apply advanced grants/contracts expertise to resolve financial issues and mentor junior staff.
• Help shape departmental policies and best practices within the Division of Infectious Diseases.
• Maintain compliance documentation and support audits.
