Zebra Technologies in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to drive invention and innovation, delivering differentiated offerings for priority markets and translating ideas into strategic growth opportunities.
The role requires onsite work in Morris Plains with a hybrid schedule (minimum of three days in the office per week). You will design experiments, assess feasibility, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to push breakthroughs and protect intellectual property.
Qualifications
- 10+ years R&D experience or 5+ years with a master's
- Experience in wireless systems (BLE, WiFi, RFID, UWB)
- Experience with microcontrollers and SoCs embedded processors
Responsibilities
- Develop scoping experiments to demonstrate idea feasibility and next steps
- Design experiments, trials, testing, analyses; provide recommendations for next steps
- Develop appropriate R&D experimental design to support stakeholders and growth
- Communicate invention disclosure process and engage with legal for patent filings
- Maintain an organized workspace to promote efficiency, safety, and inclusion
