Texas A&M Engineering invites applications for a Senior Research Engineer I in Fort Worth, TX. This staff role coordinates and oversees the Aerospace and Aviation Research Lab, overseeing design, procurement, installation, and operation of lab equipment and projects.

Requirements include a Master’s degree (or equivalent) and at least six years of related experience; preferred are MS/PhD in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, CAD tools, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six years of related experience.
• Ability to handle Controlled Unclassified Information and security-clearance eligibility.
• MS/PhD in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; other fields considered with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Spec out a Digital Twins with AI agents and GPS-denied navigation lab in coordination with SMEs and supervisor.
• Design the lab layout with SMEs, supervisor, and vendors.
• Acquire equipment and supplies with SMEs and contracts teams.
• Install and check-out the equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Work with safety and facilities to meet all safety and security requirements.
• Prepare status reports and financial execution updates for management.
• Familiarize with lab operation to perform tests and data collection.
• Maintain safety and lab records, including training and inventory.
• Mentor students working in the lab and schedule lab usage.
• Perform related duties as required.
