Job summary

You will manage CNC mills, lathes, welding systems; develop SOPs; provide hands-on training; and coordinate multi-project fabrication in a robotics/aerospace environment. A Bachelor’s degree and six years’ experience are required, with CAD/CAM and precision measurement valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering/manufacturing field.
• Six years of related machine shop experience.
• Experience leading multi-user shop environments and training users.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the machine shop and fabrication laboratory.
• Leads production of components and parts for tenants and Institute projects.
• Consults with researchers to determine fabrication requirements and methods.
• Prepares labor, materials, equipment, and timeline estimates for services.
• Maintains safe operation of CNC mills, lathes, welding systems, and instrumentation.
• Develops SOPs for machining, fabrication, and equipment usage.
