Job summary

Myticas Consulting is seeking a mission-driven editor to join our Banking client's Research Editorial Team in Chicago. You will edit scholarly articles, research periodicals, e-newsletters, and speeches to educate nontechnical audiences and enhance the client’s impact.

The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, can work independently or collaboratively, and will use AI tools to streamline editorial workflows. This role reports to the editorial lead with no direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or work equivalent in English, journalism, economics, or related communications field.
• 4+ years of relevant editing experience.
• Substantive editing and proofreading with Chicago Manual of Style.
• Familiarity with AI research tools and prompt engineering.
• Experience submitting materials into a web CMS and reviewing HTML.
• Strong writing and editorial process understanding.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Interest in economics, community development, and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Copyedit and proofread Economic Research periodicals.
• Perform substantive copyediting of research publications and manuscripts.
• Edit content for the Bank's public-facing website.
• Translate and amplify the Bank's work for nontechnical audiences.
• Communicate with authors about processes and timelines.
• Edit and cross-check bibliographies, tables, figures and ads.
• Utilize AI tools to improve workflows.
• Review HTML-converted publications with the web production team.
• Log editorial projects in a tracking system.
• Work under general supervision on advanced editorial tasks.
