Job summary

RTI International, a scientific research institute, seeks a Data Scientist with deep expertise in AI/ML, NLP, and LLMs to shape analytics across health research and other domains. You will lead development, mentor staff, and contribute to business development and proposals.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, translate research questions into robust data-driven solutions, and ensure production-ready, transparent analytical workflows for federal clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in one or more advanced analytics or data science areas (AI/ML, NLP, generative AI, LLMs).
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and/or R; experience with cloud-based environments.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to proposals, technical writing, or business development in a research context.

• Lead the design and development of AI/ML pipelines and analytical systems.
• Advance data science efforts across RTI’s health research and other domains.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to hiring and knowledge transfer.
