Job summary

City of Hope seeks a Senior Research Associate to lead major research projects and supervise laboratory staff, driving cutting-edge efforts in cancer, diabetes and related diseases. The role offers high autonomy under minimal direction from the Principal Investigator and collaboration with other researchers.

The candidate will design and execute experiments, train technicians, and contribute to published findings while ensuring safety and compliance with procedures for handling bio-hazardous

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• Five or more years related research/laboratory experience with a Bachelor’s degree or more; Four or more years with a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of major research projects.
• Plan and direct the work of research associates, lab assistants, technicians and aides.
• Train laboratory research staff in specialized procedures and concepts behind unique tests.
• Independently evaluate research data and propose alternatives to improve results and research design.
• Prepare articles and papers on techniques and results; contribute to published findings.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with procedures and safety guidelines for handling bio-hazardous materials.
