Job summary

City of Hope invites applications for a Research Associate I to join our research teams under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. You will perform routine and increasingly complex experiments using established lab protocols.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, recording and validating results, possibly modifying protocols, writing SOPs and reports, and maintaining thorough lab records. A Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and 0–2 years of experience are required.

• 0–2 years of research/laboratory experience.

• May modify protocols.
• Write standard operating procedures and reports.
• Maintain records of work, including results and methodology; recordkeeping may involve data graphing and compilation.
• Develop techniques and expertise in one or more laboratory research areas.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of materials.

• Utilize laboratory equipment and established protocols to perform a variety of research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.
• May modify protocols.
• Write standard operating procedures and reports.
• Maintain records of work performed, including results and methodology; utilizing records may calculate, graph, and compile data.
• Develop techniques and expertise in one or more areas relevant to laboratory research projects.
• Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with safety procedures and guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of materials.

Your qualifications should include:

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
• 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
