Actalent is seeking a Senior Research Associate for our Des Moines, IA facility. The role involves performing laboratory experiments, operating analytical equipment, and supporting ongoing research with meticulous documentation and data presentation.

You will draft SOPs and research protocols, analyze data under supervision, and contribute to internal reports and publications. This contract position follows a 40-hour week on-site, with focus on safety, accuracy, and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry with 0–3 years of related experience, or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of related experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with pipetting in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience with HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography).
  • Enzyme assay experience.
  • Analytical laboratory skills with strong scientific curiosity and innovative thinking.

  • Contribute to scientific publications and internal technical documents by providing data, analysis, and technical input.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a laboratory environment, supporting shared goals and contributing to a positive and productive team culture.
  • Maintain high attention to detail in all laboratory and documentation activities to ensure data integrity and reliable results.

Work Environment

This role is based in a state-of-the-art headquarters facility that supports a global ingredient manufacturing organization focused on improving the quality of life for a large portion of the world's population. The campus includes modern amenities such as a Starbucks, cafeteria, and gym. The position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week) and is structured as a 6-month contract. The work takes place in an analytical laboratory environment using equipment such as pipettes, HPLC systems, and assay platforms. Team members work closely with scientists and researchers in a collaborative setting, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and high-quality scientific work. Dress expectations align with working in a professional laboratory setting, including appropriate lab attire and use of personal protective equipment as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
