Job summary

The University of Tennessee, Office of Innovative Technologies, seeks a Senior Research Consultant to lead the design, execution, and analysis of research projects across campus. This role partners with investigators to develop grant proposals and analysis plans, mentors analysts, and leads methods development for peer-reviewed publications.

The position involves teaching workshops, guiding statistical computing, and managing research software licenses while contributing to budget and compliance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or related field.
• 7 years of experience applying statistics; graduate study may substitute if extensive consulting occurred.
• Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Expertise in at least three of: R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Stata, MATLAB, ArcGIS and JMP.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution, and analysis of research projects across campus.
• Develop grant proposals including power and sample size calculations.
• Mentor colleagues through workshops and consultations on advanced statistical methods.
• Configure software and hardware for research computing and licensing.
• Contribute as senior author on manuscripts when appropriate.
• Teach workshops on statistics and data analysis techniques.
