Job summary
The University of Chicago seeks a Sr. Research Analyst to support the Advanced Electron Microscopy Core. You will operate high-end TEM/SEM and cryo‑light microscopes, train new users in cryo‑ET and CLEM, and help develop research projects in collaboration with PIs.
Under moderate guidance you will perform instrument alignments, quality checks, and data analysis, while contributing to manuscript preparation and outreach activities across the university research community.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of related work experience.
- Experience with cryo-ET data collection and analysis.
- Experience with TEM/cryogenic autoloaders and open-source analysis tools.
Responsibilities
- Load samples, perform alignments, and guide users during daily activities.
- Train users on TEMs, SEMs, cryo-light microscopes, and data analysis software.
- Contribute to development and implementation of new equipment and methods.
- Coordinate outreach activities like workshops and facility tours.
- Oversee data collection, literature reviews, and report preparation.
- Develop data collection instruments and assist in project planning.
- Set up experiments and troubleshoot to maintain instrument performance.
