Job summary

BHE Renewables is seeking a Senior Renewable Projects Manager to oversee multi-phase development from pre-bid to construction and asset operation. You’ll guide planning, licensing, design, and start-up of wind, solar, and other renewables while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust contractor management.

Key responsibilities include managing plant operations, budgets, land contracts, and PPA/VPP processes, with a strong emphasis on safety and stakeholder service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
• Eight years of related project management or renewable energy experience including three years supervisory management responsibilities.
• Knowledge in new renewable/alternative energy power projects preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of renewable power plants and oversee third-party O&M.
• Focus on safety, regulatory integrity, operational excellence, and customer service.
• Develop and execute an O&M budget aligned with company goals.
• Oversee all plant activities.
• Manage financial performance including day-ahead market offers and PPA settlements.
• Manage land agreements, contracts, and JV docs and reports for solar and wind properties.
• Ensure accurate interpretation of land agreements for operations and accounting.
• Safeguard records and control data, maps and contracts.
• Manage environmental permitting, compliance and mitigation.
• Interpret permits and develop compliance plans and inspections.
• Represent the company on industry and government committees.
• Manage interconnect and PPA contractual responsibilities.
• Support evaluation and operations of market PPAs.
• Ensure timely compliance submissions with third-party O&M.
• Develop project plans and coordinate installation/evaluation of emerging technologies.
• Perform due diligence for potential acquisitions.
• Conduct site assessments before financial closing.
• Develop or review designs of commercial and utility-scale renewable projects.
